Two bars, a real fire and more than two centuries of good company

The Chichester Inn has stood on West Street since 1785, just inside the old city walls and a few minutes on foot from Chichester Cathedral, the Festival Theatre and the market cross.

The front lounge is the quiet corner, with a real fire and comfortable chairs. The larger public bar to the rear is where the music happens, and beyond it lies a walled courtyard garden with a heated, covered area for every season.

There is a separate dining area away from the main bar, a function room for birthdays, wakes and celebrations, pool and games in the back bar, and a free car park for guests, a rare thing in the middle of Chichester.

Cask ales, kept the way CAMRA likes them

We are a Good Beer Guide listed pub with a rotating cellar of real ales from Sussex independents. The range changes frequently, so there is usually something new on the pumps alongside the regulars.

A walled garden in the middle of the city

Through the back bar you will find our courtyard garden: brick walled, set with benches and parasols, and with a heated, covered area so it earns its keep all year round.

It is a proper suntrap in summer and one of the few pub gardens inside the city walls, minutes from the Cathedral green.
